Sandra Galda – Formulation and Modifications in the First Atelier in the High School at Bradford Christian Academy: An Atelier program for High School


Sandra Galda trained at Ingbretson Studios.  She earned her Masters of Liberal Arts concentrated in the History of Art and Architecture from Harvard University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She has been painting and selling her oil paintings for years, while raising her family. In 2015 she proposed the creation of a modified for high school atelier in a local private high school. Since 2015 Sandra has been teaching her modified for high school atelier program with terrific results.

This paper would describe the founding and growth of the Atelier in the High School at Bradford Christian Academy. I will share the formulation, practical issues of its creation, and report on its ongoing success. It has recently been approved as the very first atelier that takes place within a high school by the Art Renewal Center.
